Location
Greater Vernon is centrally located 441 km northeast of Vancouver, and 556 km west of Calgary, Alberta on highway 97, north of the United States border and easily accessible by bus, air, and car via highways 1,3 or 5. Greater Vernon is well connected to the BC and Trans-Canada Highway system. The Coquihalla Highway is a four-lane divided toll freeway, which makes travel to Vancouver only a half-days drive.
Highway 97 runs from the Yukon and Alaska through the center of British Columbia to Washington, Oregon and California, with access to Interstate 5, which runs from the Canadian border with Washington State to the Mexico border with California.
