The Okanagan Valley has one of the most enviable climates in Canada. This makes Greater Vernon and the Okanagan Valley a popular destination. Although Greater Vernon enjoys a four-season climate, it is not unusual to see golfers on the courses in the spring while skiers enjoy the deep champagne powder of nearby mountains & ski resorts.
The Okanagan Valley offers a comfortable climate year round. Summers a re very warm with hot days, and bright blue sunny skies. The mean annual sunshine in Greater Vernon is just under 1950 hours. Winters in the Valley are generally much milder than other areas of British Columbia. However, there is definitely no shortage of snow at the surrounding ski resorts, and the unique climate keeps the roadways free of hazardous sinter conditions.
