Granite Creek Estate Wines
Mayka and Doug Kennedy began winemaking at home and their enthusiasm led them to explore the wine regions of Europe. Mayka's degree in Chemistry and chemical engineering are a strong asset in understanding the technical side of winemaking. Her skills are complemented by Doug's management experience - and both have a love of wine.
The watchful eye of Gary Strachan has mentored the family through the establishment of their first vineyard, the acquisition of equipment, and their first fermentations. Strachan is a veteran with over 25 years of technical experience in British Columbia's growing wine industry. He is a former Agriculture Canada research scientist who returned to the private sector and has assisted in the establishment of many of BC's impressive new wineries.

Okanagan Spirits
Come and tour Okanagan Spirits in downtown Vernon and experience firsthand, the processing of local fruit distilled in our copper-pot still...creating award winning products. Our craft distillery produces spirits and liqueurs from the many fruits grown in the Okanagan Valley as well as a Genuine Absinthe, Gin and Vodka. Craft distilling is a unique industry across Canada and is not to be missed while visiting the Valley.
The distillery is open all year round Monday to Saturday from 9am until 5 pm.
When traveling through the scenic Salmon Valley, between Salmon Arm and Vernon, you will find OVINO vineyards and winery perched on a bench well above the valley bottom. This glacier carved landscape offers mostly sandy and sandy loam soils, marbled with infrequent layers of clay. The vines are located on a sun drenched knoll to maximize photosynthesis and air flow, supported by a drip irrigation system.

The opening of The Meadery at Planet Bee and the introduction of "Honeymoon Mead" represents the return of this ancient "Beverage of Love" and an additional new and exciting product experience for visitors to Vernon BC.
Mead is a pleasant alcoholic beverage made from fermented honey and water. Mead can be manufactured from numerous different honeys, flavoured with spices or fruit and made very sweet or very dry or anywhere in between.
